This family room started life as a
blank canvas with only a small brick fireplace as a focal
point. Over time we transformed it into an elegant,
comfortable, and flexible family room space. We warmed it up
by adding cherry-stained maple cabinets flanking a real rock
fireplace. We created a simple custom leaf-patterned area
rug and brought in some unusual furniture pieces to
construct a space for both television viewing and
entertaining. The bookcases were adorned with items of
texture and appeal to nature for a more inviting ambiance.
With the walls in the soft chamois Devine Oat color and
adjoining breakfast nook in rich Devine Sangria, the whole
space became the center of the household. From ‘used college
furniture’ to ‘ultimately fabulous’, our clients loved this
transformation.
