Often we are invited to work on
projects where the big pieces already exist. Our job becomes
pulling the room together through color, texture, and
interest. Such is the case of this striking, but small,
living room. We first re-arranged the seating to provide an
open and welcoming conversation area. From the gorgeous new
area rug we extracted a warm and refreshing color palette of
copper, salmon, turquoise, and creamy beige. With a fresh
coat of Devine Hazelnut paint on the walls and silky
gray-blue window panels, we went to work on the finishing
details. We dressed the sofa and chair with both
store-bought and custom made accent pillows and included an
exquisite side table, some sculptures, and art pieces to
define the character of the space and reflect the owners.
The room went from ‘mostly ignored’ to part of the daily
family routine. It’s amazing what a little color and
ingenuity can do.
