Annabelle’s Master Bath 4/23/09
Here’s a project that we’ll be following on our website from start to finish. This client lives in a house in Tigard built in the mid-90s. It has many of the same features of some of our other bathroom remodel projects – oak cabinets, carpet on the floor, standard white ceramic tile, exposed bulb lighting, and no wall color. Our client in this case wants to change out all of the surfaces in order to ready it for resale next year.
So we started by discussing her taste and what kind of surfaces she wanted to see used. Here are the parameters:
- We’ll be keeping the tub, shower, toilet, and cabinetry. But we’ll be refinishing the cabinets (they’ve got bad water damage to the stain), tiling the floor, re-tiling the bathtub, updating the light fixture, sinks, and faucets and installing a solid surface quartz countertop. We’ll be topping it off with a new coat of paint.
- Our color scheme needs to appeal to a wide audience so we’re going to stay relatively neutral in the fixed surfaces and add flair with the items that can easily be changed (like paint, lighting, and accessories). We’ve selected the tile and a gorgeous glass accent tile for the backsplashes already.
Here are the original designs for the tile that we’ve sent off to our installer so he can give us a bid. Ignore the colors however; they are just for graphical representation.
